I had contacted a competitor to start the initial process of a second mortgage. I then did my homework. when I realized I already had a loan with Rocket Mortgage. Contacted them and was assigned to Joe Frey. After discussing everything with him, I did not feel any pressure or pushing to sign with rocket. He answered all my questions, understood my concerns, and after that I decided to cease my relationship with the competitor and immediately started the process with rocket. Joe was able to beat the competitor rates and advised that I shouldn’t be surprised if they automatically come back with a much lower counter offer, which they did. They then came back with a second counter offer, even lower, which seemed too good to be true.
