I received a call from Rocket Mortgage after submitting a request for mortgage loan rates on LendingTree.com. I was connected with John, who was very friendly to speak with. I told John I was interested in getting quotes from other lending organizations, only to compare with the rates I had from local mortgage firms. I told John I was interested in getting quotes from other lending organizations, only to compare with the rates I had from local mortgage firms. He wanted to pull my credit to start the process, but I asked him if we could wait. I didn't want a credit report pulled at this time. He asked what I wanted him to do. I offered to give him my salary, monthly debt obligations and other financial information. He insisted he needed to pull my credit before he could help me. This was strange since the local lenders did not pull my credit right away to start the quote process. I did not feel comfortable with a credit pull at that time, so I decided not to go with Rocket Mortgage. In order to do this, we make sure to collect as much information as possible about your financial situation up front. By pulling all of our client’s credit from the start, we have a very clear picture of what we can qualify you for, and a very clear picture what your loan program will look like.
