Alex was excellent. The only issue with the closing was that he was not in the office to solve a discrepancy in the refinance papers. Others could not fix the problem because they were not familiar with our loan. So we had to wait until he got back before the issue could be resolved. This delayed the closing by a few days; not a problem for us.

Alex called me before 9:00am in the morning to advise me I could refinance my mortgage if I was interested. He asked me, among other things, about the value of my home. I informed him $186,000 should be very close to my home's value. I then told him to email the information so I could read over it and make a decision. I then told him to email the information so I could read over it and make a decision. So later that day he calls me to tell me to let me know that the refinance won't happen because he could only find comperable sales for $171,000 and $116,000. The reality is that the house next door and directly across the street, both identical floor plans to mine, sold within the last three month for $184,000 and $186,000 respectively. When informed him of this over the phone his reply was "oh really", "yes really". I understand that everyone has quotas to meet and it's not always easy. However this is the third time that Rocket Mortgage has solicited my refinance business only to find not enough equity in the home to proceed. My problem with all of this is that Rocket Mortgage has my mortgage balance and the ability to look up comperable sales, and somehow no policy excists that requires anyone to do the work before the phone call is made.
