I was pretty much at the end of my rope trying to refinance my house. I applied to 3 different banks and was turned down primarily because of my lack of income. My house valued at $265,000 and I owed $81,000 and I had $15,000 total otherwise. I clearly understand my debt to ratio was a valid and a good reason to refuse me but I paid my mortgage religiously for over 35 years. Matthew continued to try to help me and found other assets that I had but after not hearing from him for 1day I figured it was not going to be possible to get the refinance .But I had heard "no" so many times I was ok ,I can live without it.
