I started with Lending Tree when considering a cash out refi and of course got many quotes immediately. However on account I've previously worked as both a mortgage banker and real estate broker myself, I immediately realized there are many hidden costs tucked into many of the quotes. In my case I wanted the best rate with zero costs so my stated rate and my APR would be essentially the same. This way in case rates drop again my effective rate over any term during the course of the loan would be the same no matter when I pay it off.
So Robert contacted me to find out why I hadn't moved with Rocket Mortgage Yet. I simply explained what I need. It took him almost no time to come back with exactly what I wanted: The best possible rate with zero costs associated. So of course I choose to work with him.
I also know since I've worked overseas for the last 30 years operating my own business with no W-2's etc. it would be tough to qualify. And furthermore we had remodeling in progress in the subject property.

After everything was almost finalized I continued to get calls from other Lenders and after telling them what I got, they all said, "just close with Rocket Mortgage, cause you already got the best possible deal". That included the independent traveling notary who closed the loan, he told me out of all the folks he's closed loans for, Rocket Mortgage always seems to be the best in terms of rates and streamlined documentation.
