I was still relatively new to the mortgage/real estate financing field and Ryan sped through the jargon as if I knew what he was talking about. I expressed some uncertainty about process to Ryan and it would have been nice if he slowed down and explained it a bit more clearly to make sure I understood. In the end, I had a massive closing payment of close to 4% of my loan. I thought this was normal--and almost paid it-- until a different mortgage company offered the same interest rate at nearly half the closing costs. I ended up going with Ryan and Rocket Mortgage because of a subsequent counteroffer, but now that I understand how the process works, the initial closing costs combined with a lack of clarity on process was a bit unsettling.Read MoreRead Less

Came back to edit my initial review but couldn’t find it. Ryan and Rocket Mortgage were great, until something went wrong. Then I was made to feel as it was my fault. Getting started we agreed on a mortgage that would make my monthly about $1,440. I agreed to move forward but when the paperwork came back the monthly was $2,100. Long story short, they had my taxes $6,000 more than they should have been. Would have been close to $120,000 over the life of the loan and I was the only one to have a problem with it.
