We were 2 years in a loan and had significant equity in the house to drop the pmi. After speaking with the current lender they said I was bound by contract to pay pmi for 5 years. I immidiatly contacted Rocket Mortgage and was sent over to Nic. He followed up with us almost daily for a month and was EXTREMLY helpful with anything I threw at him. I think Nicholas did an excellent job handling my mortgage. I did have two concerns after Nicholas completed his portion of my mortgage. My first concern was I was definitely told that my wife did not have to attend the closing with the notary, but it turned out that information was wrong. After I signed all the documents, days later I was told my wife had to also sign the same documents. Another notary came to my home and had my wife sign everything. My second issue was after everything was signed by both of us, I receive a call to setup a date for my home appraisal. This had to be wrong. You don't appraise after the closing. After signing on with Rocket Mortgage, Scott made the process feel completely effortless, if Scott said he would call you at 10am your time, you received a call at 10am. If I needed to call him on Sunday morning on his cell, I would receive a "Goodmorning this is Scott"
There never was any pressure as with other mortgage companies, and like any other 68 year old you enjoy a captive audience, Scott was all business with your best interest at heart, but there was always time for personal conversation.
Scott and his team were able to meet my pressing personal circumstances and finalize underwriting and were ready to close within seven days.
