However, I rated our overall experience as below average because of our experiences over the last two weeks of the process. Up until that time it was 5 star. The last two weeks of the process were extremely difficult and I was not at all pleased with all that occurred. I ran my own contracting business for 32 years. In that time I learned the most significant impacting factor to any successful project was the PROJECT MANAGER. You folks need one for every loan process taking place. ONE PERSON to manage and navigate for the client all that is needed to avoid the pitfalls we ran into. We had completed all of the tasks in our portal weeks ahead and had nothing outstanding. Over the last two weeks of this process I was contacted by no less than 15 different "specialists" about a variety of things. Many of these specialists were contacting me for the same reason some other specialist had already contacted me about. This was frustrating. The final straw (the one that gave this rating "below average") was being contacted 4 days before closing by 4 different specialists to tell me that my flood insurance coverage amount was not sufficient and that it needed to be increased. Each of these 4 times I contacted my insurance broker about it, and each time my broker connected with your folks to explain the coverage amount was indeed at the sufficient level required by the underwriters. At 3:00pm on July 2 I was told by a specialist, in order to prove my coverage was sufficient, I had to provide a copy of the HOA's Flood Insurance Policy by 5:00pm because Rocket would be closed on July 3 for the July 4 Holiday. I was furious. We were scheduled to close on July 7! I told the specialist how upset I was but it made no difference to him. So, to keep schedule, I unnecessarily spent $950 more that day to increase the coverage and you folks still missed closing! My strong suggestion - appoint a Project Manager to manage your team and to oversee the entire loan process and eliminate last minute surprises for the client!Read MoreRead Less

communication was difficult. had to leave several messages before returning our calls. difficult process uploading required documents. after closing, disbursement of funds was made using the mail when i specifically asked for a wire transfer. overall bad experience using this mortgage company.

In September, after agreeing to specific terms with Babak, I committed to close my mortgage deal with him. I was assured that my rate was finalized, but Babak never locked it in. As my closing date approached, I was hit with an unexpected 0.75% rate increase, along with a reduced credit for fees. When I asked Babak to at least lower...Babak Motamedi engaged in a bait-and-switch tactic with my loan.

In September, after agreeing to specific terms with Babak, I committed to close my mortgage deal with him. I was assured that my rate was finalized, but Babak never locked it in. As my closing date approached, I was hit with an unexpected 0.75% rate increase, along with a reduced credit for fees. When I asked Babak to at least lower the rate by 0.25%, he instead added a 0.25% discount point **at my expense**.

If you’re reading this, I strongly advise you not to trust Babak’s promises. And if you've already found yourself in a similar situation, consider filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).Read MoreRead Less
