Michele started out strong with the loan application process and securing a competitive mortgage rate. However, around the halfway point, communication dropped off significantly. Responses became delayed or nonexistent, and I ultimately had to work with a Solution Consultant to finish the mortgage process.
Before closing, my loan estimate unexpectedly doubled—from about $11K to $23K—with no explanation. I was instructed by Rocket Mortgage to sign and acknowledge the estimate despite the clear error. Even though the Solution Consultant assured me it was a mistake and that the final cost would align with the original estimate, I refused to sign until it was corrected.
Overall, this was the poorest mortgage experience I’ve had. The lack of communication, the major unexplained cost discrepancy, and the pressure to sign inaccurate documents made the process extremely frustrating.
