This was our third time working with Rob and Rocket. While Rob was clear about the process, his team lacked the ability to manage a complex one. While Rob was clear about the process, his team lacked the ability to manage a complex one. They sent all our banking details via unsecured email and made numerous mistakes. His team's communications were lacking and full of errors. We closed late and were threatened with a letter to perform because of all the issues with Rocket. They asked for all our documents many times and could not keep the records straight. We went with them because the rate was 0.5% lower than anyone else's due to our relationship with Ameriprise; otherwise, I would never use them. The errors and mistakes are simply not worth it when buying a home or refinancing. I did write to Rob about the issues and was told I could call Rocket. We never felt supported with all the problems. We are still waiting for our refunds from the overpayments. I would highly recommend another team that focuses on customer service and your long-term success. Rocket is not that team. Such a letdown since this loan was for our kids' first home. They had a terrible experience, and we feel bad for them. Can't wait to refi this away from Rocket. And I won't be coming back to them, no matter how good they make the offer. It's simply not worth the headache and security risk. I now pay for credit monitoring since they exposed all our information with zero regard. They did say sorry, they were tired and made a mistake. SMH. Rob got a 5 rating, but the Rocket Leadership, Director/VP/CEO level, gets 3 stars due to their draconian, boilerplate qualification system, their excessively financially conservative outlook and their lack of empowerment to the professionals in their organization (who actually do the work) to make informed/rational approval decisions based on actual financial risk to Rocket Mortgage. Rob and the...Rob got a 5 rating, but the Rocket Leadership, Director/VP/CEO level, gets 3 stars due to their draconian, boilerplate qualification system, their excessively financially conservative outlook and their lack of empowerment to the professionals in their organization (who actually do the work) to make informed/rational approval decisions based on actual financial risk to Rocket Mortgage. Rob and the other team members did great, but because of the aforementioned, he and the team had their hands tied which resulted in many delays, a request for an unnecessary and undoable change in our homeowners insurance policy and requests for added financial support. The Rocket top leadership are responsible for these inefficiencies and for the worst lender approval experience we have had in over 40 years of successfully owning many properties. What confused us is how much risk to Rocket is there when the collateral includes a Michigan home free and clear, a Florida home with gobs of equity, a reasonable investment porfolio, reasonable liquid money buffer in the bank, additional collateral and top end credit scores. I hope the Rocket leadership uses this input to improve their internal approval systems to truely become a world-class lender and to ensure a world-class experience for their customers.
