I first spoke to Ruben on February 1st. He had a great demeanor and seemed eager to help. He patiently answered my myriad questions as I tried to understand the process. We explained to him that we were in a rush to get the loan closed. He said that he could not commit to when it would close and that he thought that everything could be wrapped up by February 16th based on what he learned from our call. I asked him if the closing would happen electronically, and he said yes.

I expeditiously provided all the requested information.

On the 13th, I called him to get a status on the closing but got his voice mail.

The 16th came and went without any information about the status of the loan. On the 17th I called him 3 times, and learned that he was out of the office. After speaking to someone else, I was routed to Bianca in the closing department. She explained to me that they were waiting on a document from the state and the closing could not happen until it was received. She also explained that there would be a delay after the closing before the funds would be disbursed. I was not aware of this delay.

Another piece of new information that she shared was that I needed to physically sign for the closing and that a notary had to come to the house. Although this was not a problem under the circumstances, it would have been preferable to know this in advance.

Overall the experience was positive. I would have given him a 5 star rating had there not been a few pieces of key information that were not disclosed.Read MoreRead Less

During the process, the loan had to be pushed back several days which increased my money down, it went from $1300 to $2400 then to $3600.
