I was not aware in advance that there was an issue with my debt to loan ratio. I was going to pay off a home improvement credit card balance with this loan. To adjust the ratio, Rocket Mortgage applied funds that were being dispersed ($45,000 minimum) to my home mortage - reducing my 4% mortgate by $5,000 and adding that to my new loan at 8.5%. If they wanted to reduce the ratio, they should have contacted me prior to closing asking what debt I would like to apply that to - not just selecting my lowest interest rate debt. Steve was very helpful especially with computer. However I am having trouble with the lease. Told him no you don,t pay off lease. Steve came back and said yes people do it okay. So I did well what his associates did not tell him is once you pay off if you have a act of god happen you lose money for rest of lease.
