The online home mortgage process has improved immensely over the past few years. I tried to have my mortgage done through my credit union. By the time I received a phone call of my approval through my credit union I had already spoken with Brian (via chat which is really convenient), been approved for my desired loan amount, went on 5 home viewings, and had placed an offer on a home.
