OH Boy. I found a house and now I need a loan. When I called Rocket I was immediately put in touch with Melissa. In the first phone call she gathered enough information to assure me I could get a loan. I called several other loan folks. I'm sure they had successful careers in the used car business, but that approach didn't work for me. This house turned into a nine-way bidding war. She was ...OH Boy. I found a house and now I need a loan. When I called Rocket I was immediately put in touch with Melissa. In the first phone call she gathered enough information to assure me I could get a loan. I called several other loan folks. I'm sure they had successful careers in the used car business, but that approach didn't work for me. This house turned into a nine-way bidding war. She was able to give me not a prequalification, but a preapproval letter. I didn't get this house. It was three months before I found another. In that time, I was bombarded with calls from other lenders. Melissa kept in touch but in a friendly, infrequent and reassuring way.
When I found the next house, it was perfect for me. I only called one person, and she got busy. In a matter of days, she had all of the heavy lifting done for this loan. We all know getting a loan is a paper chase. We made a good team and when she needed docs, I got it done right now because I was on a team. It wasn't a demand or order from High On.
My loan was a small one. After we would talk, I hoped she would find a rich techie buying a million-dollar house. How could she spend such patient time with me?
When I look back at buying this house, my thoughts will not be how I found it, how glad I was to get it, it will be how my friend Melissa pushed this through and got it done.
