I had a lender in mind already and I was clear about that in our initial conversation. Over time, and through consistent communication on Ryan’s part, I was won over. I had some questions and he took the initiative to seek out the answers and follow-up with me. To me, that speaks volumes of his character. He has continued to maintain communication throughout my home-buying process and worked with me through some unique circumstances. I've always heard people say how long or tedious the home buying process is, but my experience has been the exact opposite thanks to Derek and my Realtor. I couldn't have asked for a better duo. They've made this process a breeze and in record timing. From my initial call with Derek, it was obvious that he was "seasoned". His honesty and "straight to the point" demeanor made me feel comfortable to trust his professional opinion. One of the last questions I had asked Derek during our first call was if it was true that I'm able shop for mortgages within a 14-day window without the multiple inquiries negatively affecting my credit. He confirmed. I had every intention to reach out and schedule appointments with various financial institutions to weigh my options and compare rates, but I never got the chance too because shortly after my preapproval process with Rocket Mortgage, I visited 3 properties with my agent and fell in love with the last home I toured. It was almost 10pm in the evening when I received a call from Derek saying, " I was cooking pasta when I got a text that you made an offer CONGRATULATIONS".
