Ryan turned a routine refinance into a stressful ordeal that lasted months. If he had made a minimal effort to communicate clearly and answer the phone, all of this could have been avoided.
(1) He assured me that the loan product would be "no-cost" and then moved forward with a loan that had closing costs, which kept increasing. When I asked him about it, he refused to give me a straight answer, ...Ryan turned a routine refinance into a stressful ordeal that lasted months. If he had made a minimal effort to communicate clearly and answer the phone, all of this could have been avoided.
(1) He assured me that the loan product would be "no-cost" and then moved forward with a loan that had closing costs, which kept increasing. When I asked him about it, he refused to give me a straight answer, saying "there will be a lot of loan estimates" before the end or just saying vague things. At the very end, we were asked to pay closing costs and they had to restructure the loan at the last second to get rid of them, increasing our rate after it was locked.
(2) No one on his team bothered to reach out to our condo management company until the Monday before Thanksgiving, just days before we were scheduled to close. This is despite the fact that I warned him multiple times our condo company is very slow and offered to help get in touch with them. Even after they blew the first deadline at the end of November (costing us $1000 in interest we could have avoided), Ryan's team didn't consistently follow-through with the condo company, preferring to just wait and see what happened with them and ignore our offers to help. We nearly blew through the deadline at the end of December as well and would have if we didn't keep contacting them over and over.
(3) Ryan stopped answering the phone a couple weeks in. My wife and I probably called six or seven times over the last six weeks of the process without reaching him. I'm not sure if he was screening our calls or just generally negligent.

It would have required a minimal amount of effort from Ryan and his team to communicate clearly and push the process along, but they put in the absolute minimum necessary and turned it into an unpleasant experience for everyone.Read MoreRead Less

Overall very pleasant to work with. My only issue with the whole process is the downtime after I submitted items. It took over a week for a “reviewer” to ask for more details. I am going to on 33 days and still not funded. Just seems long for a home equity loan.
