I had been cold-called and/or emailed by over a dozen different people (even from Quicken), including from my previous mortgage company, for a couple of years. I had been told by many to wait until I had acquired more equity. Earlier this year, after stating clearly that I would not refi without a fixed rate, I went through the entire filing process only to see that my stipulation was ignored (which worries me for other women; the agent was a man). And when Gwyneth called, I was not optimistic. I told her of my experiences and that I did not want to waste her time when I was sure I was not in a position to qualify.
