Ryan and Rocket Mortgage were quite quick to get the initial ball rolling, which I very much appreciated. I was still relatively new to the mortgage/real estate financing field and Ryan sped through the jargon as if I knew what he was talking about. I expressed some uncertainty about process to Ryan and it would have been nice if he slowed down and explained it a bit more clearly to make sure I ...Ryan and Rocket Mortgage were quite quick to get the initial ball rolling, which I very much appreciated. I was still relatively new to the mortgage/real estate financing field and Ryan sped through the jargon as if I knew what he was talking about. I expressed some uncertainty about process to Ryan and it would have been nice if he slowed down and explained it a bit more clearly to make sure I understood. In the end, I had a massive closing payment of close to 4% of my loan. I thought this was normal--and almost paid it-- until a different mortgage company offered the same interest rate at nearly half the closing costs. I ended up going with Ryan and Rocket Mortgage because of a subsequent counteroffer, but now that I understand how the process works, the initial closing costs combined with a lack of clarity on process was a bit unsettling.Read MoreRead Less
