Brandon contacted me regarding a refinance of my current mortgage with Rocket Mortgage. This occurred the same day Rocket Mortgage received a Payoff Request from a different lender. I advised Brandon that he was too late as I had already received a great rate and completed the appraisal with a different lender. He insisted that he was not too late and asked me if he was able to get me to an even ...Brandon contacted me regarding a refinance of my current mortgage with Rocket Mortgage. This occurred the same day Rocket Mortgage received a Payoff Request from a different lender. I advised Brandon that he was too late as I had already received a great rate and completed the appraisal with a different lender. He insisted that he was not too late and asked me if he was able to get me to an even lower rate (rate was mentioned) would I be interested. I said yes, I would be interested. I also told him that I would not be interested if Rocket Mortgage would have to run my credit. His reply was that he was not going to affect my credit. This was very misleading and I caught onto why he worded it this way was because my credit was run by another lender and confronted him. He then came clean to yes, he was still going to run my credit. I ended up providing him with my last four of my social and my date of birth. As we were ending the call, he was going to go talk to his manager but then he stated he would need one more thing- the Loan Estimate from the other lender. I advised him that I would not provide that to him. His reply was that he would need it in order to be at the rate he mentioned earlier to me. I asked him why didn't he tell me upfront that he would need the Loan Estimate from the other lender. His reply was because he knew I would not stay on the phone with him if he requested this information up front. I told him that Rocket Mortgage was my present lender and I would appreciate they provide the best terms that they can. His reply was once again that he would need the other lenders loan estimate in order to provide the best terms. I explained to him that the other lender didn't have a competitors loan estimate and they provided a great rate and stated it would not be fair to the other lender. Brandon was very misleading and unethical. I would not have let him run my credit had he told me this. He ended up providing a laughable Loan Estimate from Rocket Mortgage.Read MoreRead Less
