When I first came into SAFE training, I was very nervous. I had no idea what an MLO does, nor did I understand a word in the book. If it wasn't for Steele, I wouldn't have ever learned the MLO process, which is the first step in mortgage banking. Elliot really pushes you to know your material. He encourages discussions and lets you break things down as a group. My only criticism of Elliot is that sometimes he can be hard to understand due to the sheer speed that he talks. I often found myself trying to figure out what he said because he repeated himself 3 times in the time it would have taken most people to say something once.

Well I guess Miss Harvery was alrighttt, JK she was excellent when it came to teaching and I remember the 20 hour lecture so well even though it was two weeks ago, I retained a lot of this info from just remembering her voice say it. At this point I am hoping to pass the SAFE, if I don't its on me not her. The assignments were sometimes tough and overwhelming and I had days where I struggled heavily and days where I was the utmost confident, She has a certain way to teaching that I love but shes also real and that's something that goes a long way. Elliot seems to have the most knowledge of the subject and curriculum of ALL the trainers here. He always has an answer whether it be clarifying for clarity or an off-the-wall "what if" question. He is very supportive and wants the class to succeed. He is very logical with reasoning and makes sure that his examples he uses exemplify the point he is trying to make. He is able to talk about a single PowerPoint slide that has a few words on it for 10 minutes because his knowledge is that in-depth. The only suggestions that I would make are to bring a little more energy to try and keep some students engaged during some of the more "dry" material during the 20 hour coursework. Read MoreRead Less

Firm but with a cause. He makes sure no one is left behind and always carries the entire class as a team. If some one is drifting off with a question he makes sure that they "parking-lot" it so that he keeps the entire team on track.
After words if you need clarity he is more than happy to help.
Yes, he seems to be the most strict out of all the instructors but that really makes for a great learning environment because it helps eliminate the distractions.
