Horrible experience. We found a Redfin property we liked and wanted to move quickly to submit an offer - the Redfin agent referred us to Shari. Knowing my income profile was unique, I was very clear that I did not want to submit an offer unless an underwriter had reviewed my file to avoid any surprises further down the road - Shari said she understood. After initial review, she was only able to qualify us for a bit under the offer we wanted to submit and indicated that underwriting would not review until we were under contract (which is an insane policy). After reminding her that I had no intentions of submitting an offer without an underwriter's approval, she let me know that if I were able to get her some additional documentation (which she listed out) that she would be able to run it "back up the flagpole". I submitted those documents and later that day was issued a pre-approval for the amount we needed to submit an offer. And, our offer was accepted! Fast forward ten days and Shari called me to let me know that underwriting was unable to qualify me for the income that was used on the pre-approval. "Running it up the flagpole" didn't mean that underwriting was reviewing it, apparently. We were left scrambling with less than three weeks until closing. To make matters worse, Shari didn't cancel the appraisal order until last minute. So, the appraiser had already scheduled with the listing agent who then later went to an appointment where no one showed up and freaked her out that we may be getting denied and cancelling the contract. Just another layer of stress we had to deal with. Luckily, I didn't get a good feeling from Shari from day one, so I was already speaking with other lenders. They were able to pick up where Shari & Rocket dropped the ball and close on time. If you want to close on time (or at all), I would not recommend using anyone at Rocket mortgage, especially not Shari and her team.Read MoreRead Less
