My family just recently entered into the market to purchase our second home. A task we have very little skill in. 16 years ago, we purchased our first home and we went the traditional path of obtaining a lender, having the lender take us down a very convoluted path. This time around we started off by doing the same thing. That is, until I saw an advertisement for Rocket Mortgage. Having a background in technology, I don't know why I didn't think about using this immediately. But even like most of my clients, it's that "teaching old dog new tricks" mentality, so I decided to give it a go. Long story short we bought our second home using Rocket Mortgage. Things that blew my mind was how supportive the team was. The #1 takeaway for me was: I was able to get the home with a down payment that was well below our budget. Like I said, when we started the process of buying this home we went down a traditional path. That traditional path quoted a down payment that was 120% higher than what we ended up paying through Rocket for the same exact house (approved limit). The second thing that really stuck out was the technology. WOW. Rocket Mortgage has this fine-tuned and then some. Speaking purely from my experience in software, this is hands down the most user-friendly, linear step-by-step, keep you on track - user interface. We new exactly what needed to be done and when. Seriously, it made buying a home super, super, super simple. I cannot thank them enough. Lastly, I want to comment on the customer service. There was an issue with our load regarding the property assessment. These are things that come up. I thought the tax assessment was way off, but who am I to really know the ins-and-outs of tax assessing. I reviewed this information on a Sunday evening and freaked out and made a comment on the Rocket App. The comment was one that you would expect from a frustrated home buyer that just learned they were over budget due to 'estimated' property taxes. To my surprise, not even 10 minutes later a Rocket employee commented back (Sunday Eve, 8pm!) saying they would be reaching out to me asap to have the discussion one on one. The really amazing thing. Really, the most amazing thing out of the entire experience: they spent the time digging into the assessment which resulted in a positive outcome. Simple, friendly, really - why would anyone use anything other than Quciken's Rocket Mortgage. The entire process I want to say took less than 40 days. We now own the home we've always wanted. Thanks to Rocket Mortgage for their amazing tech and most amazing staff! If you guys are even in St. Pete Fl, party at our house!"

Doing this all online challenged my "less than stellar" computer skills and he reassured me if was no problem and he walked me through everything step by step, answered every question we had and found us a mortgage that enabled us to get rid of a home equity loan we had previously and get everything into one load which means we can pay extra on principal each month. A total pleasure working with him and I've mentioned Rocket Mortgage and his name specifically to a couple people in case they consider refinancing."

He assured me that he and the team's at Rocket Mortgage, would not let that happen. He was right!!! With in 20 minutes of our conversation, Jacob had my options, his plan, and all I had to do was say, "let's do it"!!! He made it easy, it was simple. Jacob knows his stuff! I love that and feel like they are looking out for us because we probably wouldn’t have refinanced if he hadn’t called and we wouldn’t have saved money and years on our loan! It almost held me back from using them until I called and spoke to Chris. His patience and understanding and the assurance he had of himself and the company really put me at ease and allowed me to start the process without all the worrying. EVERY step of the way Chris was here for us. I had his cell phone number which I'm sure he regretted but he never made me feel like I was a bother! If he couldn't answer when I called he would send me a text letting me know he would call me right back, and he always did. Extemely personable and very honest. We almost went with a different company and Chris allowed us to explore that option without making us feel obligated or bad and he was even helpful in giving us tips to ask the other company about. As it turned out thanks to Chris' advice the other company wasn't so much on the up and up and when I called Chris back he never gloated about his company being better he just said he was glad that we would be continuing the process with him. You can always hear his smile through the phone which makes spending money a little easier. We've been in the customer service field collectively for over 30 years and Chris is the epitome of what customer service means. Give him a call and let him make the home buying process as easy for you as he did for us!"

He was very knowledgeable and experienced with how the Rocket Mortgage would proceed, including the portions of the process that were particularly confusing, he knew in advance that's how it would go. He was a pleasure to work with and I'd recommend him to anyone in the future. My only comment on the entirety of the process to share with the reader is that Rocket Mortgage did not do a good job of obtaining the absolute latest payoff statements from my prior bank for either my mortgage or HELOC and it took a lot of last minute pressure for me to get them to do that. As a result, they were way off on their closing projections and actually failed to pay off my HELOC in as timely a manner as they intended to. I'm very happy with the overall experience and the financial outcome, but I think, particularly since they intend to move so quickly and efficiently, they should have taken this more seriously than they did. I don't think that has anything to do with Oscar, who was along for the ride and helped a lot in all regards."

When he notified me that he would work my loan application, I was already stressed out because my home mortgage had just been sold again, for the third time in 1 year and one month, and once again I was told by the new mortgage company that the original loan did not escrow enough property taxes (not even half of enough) and that I would need to send a large sum of money to cover the shortages (that both of the first two loan Escrows didn't cover. They gave me one month to send them $1,900 and the loan payment was still going to go up quite a bit. I paid the $1900, but I was devastated. Jacob assured me that he could find a loan package for me because I had excellent credit and had had a loan with Rocket Mortgage when I live in my previous home. Jacob was kind, thorough and professional in dealing with me. He communicated often until he went on Maternity Leave, I was very appreciative of that. I began to feel that Jacob would do everything that he said he would to assist me and I feel he went above and beyond. This is the kind of professional that we need in the business world to make our lives run a little smoother. I will always be grateful for the kind of service Jacob provided me."
